Which amp should I buy between these choices?

Hey guys. I just bought a bass after not playing for nearly ten years. Now I need an amp.

I'm not a serious player, I just play at home for fun usually. Every so often I might jam with a friend on guitar. I have a choice between these 4, either on ebay or craigslist - what do you guys recommend:

Crate BT50 Bass Amp - $100 on craigslist. Has a 12 inch speaker and puts out 50 watts. Like new with box, instructions, and footswitch.

Peavey TKO 80 BASS AMP $ 100 on craigslist. Its an old one, but the guy says everything works.

Peavey Max 110 Bass Guitar Amp - $115 including shipping on ebay. slightly used. Only 20w, so I might want something bigger.

Yorkville 100B bass amp - not sure on the price. The guy is selling it as a combo with his C-4 Schecter for $500, but I just bought a nicer bass. I don't know if he will sell me just the amp.

Bass Amp - Behringer BX300 Ultra - $100. 30w deal with 10".

So what do you guys think? And if you recommend the Yorkville, can you please give your second choice bc I might not be able to buy that one.

oh and feel free to recommend an alternative within the same price range, i.e. ~$100.

I like the Yorkville myself. An alternative would be keep looking for another Yorkville. The Yorkville XM50C if you can find one used at a good price. That's a big "if". I haven't seen many for sale used. People seem to want to hang on to them and after owning one myself for a year for a second at home teaching and practice amp, I can see why. Excellent little amp that sounds much bigger than its 50 watts should. New, they go for around $320, at least around here.

The Peavey Max might be a little too feeble for you. The TKOs I've tried were not bad. I just never liked the sound as much as some others but they're dependable. If you can try it with your bass it might be worth the money. Try the Crate out too if you can. If it works and sounds good to you, make a deal for $75.

Also, look for a used Peavey Minx. I have one that's about 20 years old, has been through years of use and abuse and still works. Sound wise it's comparable to the Yorkville XM50C. Slight edge to the Yorkville for sound.

i must say that is the only one on your list i have tried ...but i had one for years (10 at least) sold it when i upgraded .used it for live on all sorts of stages , needed foldback on some. recording, was used in both the recordings on my sig.
i treated it bad... real bad and it never faulted .i regret selling it

I've tried all of those amps except the Yorkville, but I've heard great things about them and thier other amps are great, so I'd say try and buy it seperatley (He probably will, he'll get a better return if he sells them both individualy, I reckon)
If you have no luck with that, then the TKO. Wonderful things, really reliable, and a great sound.

I have owned several yorkvilles and you can't go wrong.
Get the Yorkville (depending on the price) or the Peavey. I suspect the guy selling the Yorkville is going to want 150 if it is like new though.

W/o a doubt the best buy, best sounding combo amps are from Yorkville (traynor). I own and use an XM50C w/ my upright for jazz gis ($279) and an XM100C for the wedding band w/ my fender jazz bass. The 50c has a single 10" speaker and 50 watts, while the 100C has a single 15" speaker and a 100 watts. Both are plenty loud for GB work or rehearsal, and both have a good xlr line out for PA support. No tweeters but I hate them anyway. I am fussy about my tone, as anyone should be, and my bigger pro rig for concerts is an Eden Traveler+ amp w/ 1 or 2 Bag End S15D cabs. These Yorkvilles are close enough in sound and give you great real BASS tone. The 100 C is around $380.00 Nothing else touches it at that price for quality, and the best warranty in the business.

Crate BT50 - I had a BX25 and BX50 that were great but Crate does not have a real high reputation so I would pass.

Peavey TKO 80 - very good choice

Peavey Max 110 - I had one of these...great reliability but poor low bass response.. I would pass

Yorkville 100B -great choice

Behringer BX300 - pass

Never used that Yorkville, but their stuff always tends to be very good for the price. Peavey TKO is a good solid amp and a workhorse. I'd get one of those two.

yorkville is sold. Im going to go check out the peavey now. It seems like a steal. It has a 80W, 15" speaker, piezo horn in it too. Seems like a pretty good deal.

I just bought the TKO and its amazing. I heard it with the piezo turned off and it sounded a little too muffled, not enough bright. With it on, and with the equalizer, I can't think of a single sound I cant reproduce. Definitely a bargain for $100. Thanks for the help guys.

I play a Crate BX50 and love it. Older made in USA. I put a Boss FBM1 and a DOD chorus in front of it. Played the Vaucluse Lounge on Sunset Strip recently and it did the job and rocked. Cost $50 used. Nice and light. My number 1 amp. Also have a BX15 for practice. Nothing great but it serves it's purpose. The FBM1 is the secret. I have no problems running 4ohm. We drilled a hole and installed a jack on the back. Pushed it real hard many nights with no problem.
