sadowsky.....
if you ever need to sell it, sads hold their value very well....and are sold very fast.
plus.....i llike sadowsky's as working men's basses.
for looks, i would pick the low end.

but if i would be you: " go to play them and feel and hear the basses.....never decide on any instrument without playing it first."

Sadowsky, hands down. What a beautiful instrument!! The reputation and tone of Sadowsky's instruments are renowned—for good reason.

The Mike Lull T Bird looks cool—hopefully it's no as muddy as it's Gibson counterpart—but it's no match for the Sadowsky.

The Low End is a nice chunk of wood, but I have to admit that I really don't like those upper bouts that reach half way up the neck.

No offense to anyone, but that Lowend is ridiculous looking. It looks like something Derek Smalls would play. Five knobs and four toggle switches? All that's missing is a fourth pick-up. I wouldn't drop that kind of money on a bass that looks like that.

Out of the three, I would go with the Sadowsky which looks just like a Fender. Second choice would be the T-bird which looks just like a Gibson.

I made the mistake of buying a bass with my eyes once. Never again. It's all about the tone and feel. If you don't have that, you've got a really nice (and expensive) chunk of wood sitting in your closet.

Yeah, fair enough. I'm assuming the OP is buying over the interwebs, based on his quote "All are delivered at that price" and therefore trying before he buys is not an option.

I'm also kind of assuming that any bass at that price point will feel and sound amazing. But that's maybe dumb of me.

Well I SHOULD say T-Bird to teach you not to do stupid things like letting TBers pick your two grand plus bass for you!

But I'll be nice (assuming that neck-dive and everything built backwards from how it should be isn't your thing)...Oh that's right you don't have a thing.

So that means Low end. Yeah Sadowsky's are nice but so ORDINARY! Just Fenders on steroids. Yawn.

The only one is the Low End. See that nice lobe that looks like crap? Well that's there to stablize the neck and eliminate all dead spots PLUS keep you from grabbing a 5er neck like a ball bat so to keep your thumb "where it belongs". Coffee table wood to "show class" with. And look at that knobosity would you? Normally that freaks "real" bass players, but hey, you want what *I'd* pick. So Knobosity it is (my main axes are G&L L2500 with added switches!)

There is really no choice here at all!

All IMO of course:

The Low End is ugly. You couldn't pay me to own it.

The Sadowsky is a Metro version......me no likey da basses made "over there". Now if it was a NYC version made in the USA, that would be a different situation.

The Lull: top quality, hand made in USA by a guy who is one of the best luthiers in the world.

For me, the decision is a no brainer.

But then, I'm not the OP, I'm me.

I would have to remind myself that looks are not as important as feel and sound. It has to sound and feel right in my hands. Yes, all three are impressive. But, what kind of music are you playing? Are you playing professionally? Do you need to blend into the background or stand out? IMHO...this is heck of a lot more important than looks. So, if it is based on your personal knowledge of each bass...hit the switch on what you like.

But my choice...without a test drive, is the Sadowsky.

I like gaudy, but even for me, that LowEnd is too much...

If you are looking for versatility and a bass to become your main player, get the Sadowsky.

If you have a main player and are just looking to add something new to the stable, get the Lull.

I, personally, would get the Lull in a heartbeat. Made in the USA by a top-notch shop. A 5 string black T-Bird screams "bad ass" and is not something you'll see too often. Not a bad price either...I think they go for at least $3500 new.

Seems to me that T-birds do a very specific thing, and if that thing was your thing, you wouldn't have needed to start this thread.

I personally like the look of the Lowend, but then I do slap and I have a feeling that thing would slap like a monster.

Knowing nothing other than what you described as your playing style though, I'd go with the Sadowsky, especially if you're buying without trying. I think the Sadowsky will pretty much do what you need it to do.

#1 - Low End Single Cut - looks damn sexy!

#2 - Lull T - Mike builds GREAT basses.

#3 - Sadowsky - fantastic basses, but you can always get one down the road, there's always available stock somewhere & you could grab a hotter colour than the traditional burst...
