Which bass head?

Never was an Eden fan. People tell me it's because of the cabs, but I figure that if I don't like the cabs, the same people designed the heads, so I imagine I'm not on their wavelength at all.

Since you seem to be favoring the Hartke rig, I say get it. It's good stuff. I'm an Ampeg endorser but Larry is my bro, he's got a butt-ton of personal integrity (which counts in my book), and he makes a terrific product.

I will say, however, not to rule out cabs made with other speakers besides 10"s. The size of the speakers is but one of about 30 factors why a cab sounds and performs like it does. I'm sure I could find you a cab made with 10"s that you would hate and a cab made with 15"s that you would love. OTOH, if the 410xl is hitting your buttons, that's OK, too.

+1. This ^^^ (all of it).
You already know you like the Hartke so get it.

Alright, I'll just keep researching :) In the meantime, it seems to be that 210s aren't very well supported here. 410s and 115s seem to rule all other cabinets. I'm assuming that's simply because 210s don't put out much power? Or is there something I'm missing here?

2x10's are preferred by people who value portability over volume. I wouldn't judge speakers by the number and type of drivers. There are 10's that can go very deep, and 15's that can be very punchy. Driver and enclosure design play a big part in this. I would also look at 2x12s or 4x12s. There are many good ones out there today.

OP, if you liked the Hartke LH3500, it's a phenomenal head and Hartke has some of the best customer service/business practices around. If I were you I'd go with an LH3500 head with a HyDrive cabinet of some sort... an extremely awesome professional-sounding combination.

You can never really go wrong with Carvin or Peavey, although neither have really caught my fancy. I'd actually have to disagree with a few other posters, I really enjoy both Eden heads and cabinets. I think they're more of a hi-fi and "clear" sounding Hartke, really.

Best of luck with your search!
