Which Bass would you get (be honest)?

I'm thinking of buying a new bass soon and i need everyones Personal Opinion, Price does not matter.
I will be using this bass to play some Heavy Metal songs, some songs like Rage Against the Machine, but then again I take lessons and I need something that will gimee a very traditional sound also. (Basically very versitle)

Be specific as to which Ibanez you choose

I'm personally a much bigger fan of Spectors than Ibanez but that's me.

The ATK Ibanez. That thing just looks cool. I feel pretty sure the tone is aggresive enough too with a bucker at the bridge.

But doesn't the Basswood body make it idk....a little less high quality. And it has those strange "EMG's" are they real EMG's or out of country?

I really dig the Spector and would get that but, Ibanez is really making some quality stuff these days, it would be a close second I think. I would really need to noodle the both of them though.

Is an Ernie Ball Bongo low quality? No, and it has a basswood body. Don't worry about the woods in production basses other than the finger boards.

I swear by Schecters. Just plain awesome instuments. Very versitile. Great for every single kind of music out there.

the Ibanez ATK300 is an amazing bass for the money. I think that you would be 100% happy with the versatility and feel of this bass. This thing is meant to do anything a stingray can do, and metal players sometimes prefer the stingray tone (myself included when I was doing metal). Keep in mind it is very important for you to try any option because it's really easy to be sold on the looks and specs of something when online shopping but the physical connection you have with the bass is most important. Of those 3, i'd pick the ATK. I've only picked one up off the wall in a Guitar Center, but it impressed me. For the money, I thought it was a great bass.

Now, having said that, I'd never buy a new bass. You could find a really damn good US made bass already broken in for under $700.

You've got a Spector Legend listed, but if price doesn't matter, there's no substitute for a new Euro, except a used Euro or NS-2A. Lately, there have been a couple of used ones on Ebay for that price. There was an auction last week for an early NS4CRFM with a Hazlab preamp that went for $750. If I had the cash, I'd have been all over that like Quagmire on a coed!
