Which bass

I this the new spin on "best bass for metal"?

Well, I often go to a blues festival in the summer, and I guess I see a lot of Precisions, Jazzes, EBMM stingray 5s, Thunderbirds, accoustic basses, double basses, cellos, and boutique 6 stringers, Squier telebasses and I'm pretty sure a couple of warwicks too.

I'd advise going for one of the ones I've listed, as they seem to be good for blues and jazz. [/tongue in cheek response]

Any bass would do, especially if you play with flatwound strings and mute the strings near the bridge. Personally I prefer short-scale hollowbodies for this sort of thing, but really anything will work. Just find whatever bass in your price range that is most comfortable to play and that you like the looks of.
