Which bassists are you watching?

All of these concerts were on Direct TV's "Freeview" concerts and I'm not really sure of the exact names of the concerts, but they were:

Janet Jackson - Live In Hawaii (I think)
Rush - Live in Londen
Peter Gabriel - (Not sure where) Live in Australia maybe?
Prince
Phil Collins (Nathen East layin down the low end on that one)
Bela Fleck & The Flecktones
Bon Jovi - One Last Live Wild Night

Sorry that I don't remember the names of most of these concerts. Hopefully, someone else who's seen them will chime in with the names. They were all great concerts.

This isn't eactly a new Matt Garrison DVD - but he is ALL OVER this band - they just played a bunch of dates here and were pretty incredible - I think you can mail order the DVD here:

Matt is going to be working on a new DVD but I have been checking out the one he produced last year loads recently - the production qualty isn't as good as it could be but the group players like Scott Kinsey and guitarist Adam Rogers are brilliant and Matt is just awesome - I think you can buy that from his website, it's worth a look.

I think I've worn my Wooten at Bass Day 98 DVD out I seen it so many times - I did actually learn 'Sex In A Pan' on the extra lesson feature - trouble is, I can't play it now because of my new ramp...

DVD's that I can think of off the top of my head that floored me would include:

Peter Gabriel- Growing Up Live, with Tony Levin (unidisputably "the man")
Allman Brothers Band- Live at the Beacon Theatre, with Oteil Burbridge
Incubus- Alive at Red Rocks, Ben Kenney, it's interesting to hear what this guy did with some of the old stuff (some good, some bad)
Gov't Mule- The Deepest End, almost every great player from the past 30 years
Eric Clapton- One more car, one more rider, Nathan East

That's all that I can think of for now. I hope you find something on here that you like.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I think I'll check out that Peter Gabriel. The Matt Garrison is something I'm completely unfamiliar with, so maybe I'll expand my horizons there as well. And I would have never even thought of Joni Mitchell.

Man I love being a part of this community and having access to people with a similar interest and a much more vast knowledge base. :D

Just received the Wooten at Bass Day '98 video :eek:

I think I'm about to find out if you can burn a hole through a DVD with extended watching.

Also picked up the new primus--not bad, but my wife thinks it sounds like noise and doesn't want to watch it with me. :(

I borrowed that Calle 54 DVD last week and I have been watching a bunch... I need to figure out that flamenco-like bass solo that AJ does on from with in.

... If any of y'all TB cats have seen Pinero, there is a great scene with Andy Gonzalez at the Nuyorican Poet's Club in NYC....
