Some for me are: Epiphone, Hamer, Washburn, Dean, Carvin, SX, Aria, BC Rich, Godin, Traben and Jackson.

Something about those brands that just turn me off.....even if I've never played them.

On the other hand, basses like Fender, Ibanez, and Spector....I've tried and tried and tried, but just cannot get them to work for me.

Never is a strong word, but two brands that I dislike that others really seem to like are Carvin and SWR (gasp). After trying lots of heads, I can't get a tone from SWR heads/combos. (cabs have been great). It is weird, because one of my favorite local bass players used to play through a redhead combo and I dug his tone, but everytime I plug in to one, I can't get a tone that I like at all. My Carvin dislike comes from my own mistake... I once ordered a koa LB70 and while it looked amazing, the tone was bad (even after I put some barts in it) and the neck would bow like crazy and I had to adjust it constantly. I will never buy a bass without playing it first again.

Sooooooooo, how do you feel about Pete Wentz?

Gibson and Epiphone are out for me. They can continue to fit models with that sidewinder PU, but none of them do it for me.
The LP basses have never felt right and I never know what to do with a T-bird or Flying V bass.
Richenbachers look awesome but I never got "the sound" I wanted out of them, so that's another bass I will never own.

Never say Never. I hate absolutes because everytime I use one I am proven wrong. I woulda said First Act. But then I saw the Custom "Delgada" they make. I'd at least love to try it out.

I won't play anything that costs $3000 or more.... Because I can't afford it!!!! :bassist:

I just bought a used Cort for $125 bucks a couple of months ago... And it sounds GREAT!!!! When a bass sounds crappy, half the time it's a poor matching of bass and amp - some basses sound better with some amps than others - or, more often... it's the player tuning / not tuning the bass to get the best sound possible...

Hello Feildy! :)
