I normally enjoy these comparison posts, so I'm going to try one. Below are links to three sound clips. One of them is my American Deluxe Jazz V strung with Fender rounds, another is my American Precision strung with D'adarrio Chromes and the other is my Schecter studio 5 strung with Chromes. See if you can tell which is which. I'll post the answers tomorrow evening.

I had to record the Schecter three times to get the recording you hear. The tight string spacing was telling on me as I could hear my finger thump on the B string when playing the A. That's funny, though, because I had never really noticed it before. FWIW, I love the Studiio 5, too. It's my Number 2 and goes to every gig and always sees at least one full set.

I voted : Precision, Jazz, Schecter.

It goes without saying, this will be extremely difficult, as I don't have adequate experience with the jazz's and schecters , I'm just going by what I would expect from each pickup configuration.

...It all sounds like really good basses to me, that's for sure :D
