I've used Ubuntu for a while but tried Mint recently and liked the "Menu" better. Figured I could just download the audio programs that are included in Ubuntu Studio.
The only thing is that I had not shopped for a PC in a while. I had my hopes on a Acer Netbook, then I figured I might as well get a Acer Notebook with twice the power for $35 more. A few days after, the laptop is on special @ $10 less than the netbook. So I buy it. Had totally forgotten about those cheap processors with no cache (Intel Celerons). Happens the laptop I bought has the AMD version of the Celeron.
It only has 512 kb of cache and 1.6 ghz 64 bit processor. Hopefully it will handle a bit of MIDI and recording

They were bought out by Novell years ago and are one of the distros that got in bed with Microsoft. Notice I said Used To Be. I wouldn't touch them or Xandros now.:scowl:
