Which looks better

You're looking at this the wrong way. A red (is that CAR?) bass with a maple board and black block inlays has to have a black pickguard - it's written in the law of most civilized states, and I'm pretty sure it's in the Bible, too.

What you should think about is the color of the hardware, because that bass would look absolutely sick with black hardware on it.
