For me it is mostly Samwise Gamgee. I don't see myself as stand out person but I am very loyal to my friends and committed. I also have a childlike nature that I see in the hobbits. I have no desire to famous and/or powerful. I am very happy with a quiet life, but that is not always where life leads me.
Sam would be my first choice but there is also a lot of King Theoden in me. I have been set free from some things that I allowed in my life that ended up ruling me.

I say samwise too though i'm not as submissive as he is. he's probably the most courageous of all the characters in the book because he's the most scared of all and yet he oes so much, specifically near the end when Frodo is too affected by the ring to do much of anything and where he shows what he's really made of. Not that i am courageous, but i like to make myself believe that in the face of such adversity i might become. I am very scared of everything anyway.

As enjoyable as the books are to read I always found it difficult to identify with LOTR characters. Many of their flaws, if they even have any, are quite difficult to relate to.

I guess Tom Bombadil because I'm always off in my own little world oblivious to, or can't be arsed to bother with what's trending or going on. But even then it's a shaky comparison because we know very little about that character.
