Which Markbass for me?

So here's a scenerio. If I got the Ampeg PF-500 and Pf-115 cab for smaller gigs, would the head be a decent backup for me when I take the SVT out? My cab is 8 ohms so I am thinking it would be about 300 watts. Think that'd be enough with PA support in a pinch?
It is for me. Great head and cab IMHO and would definitely make a good backup.

I have a Markbass stack that's easy to throw in my car and go. It's ok for messing around and small rooms/house parties, but I have been happy to have that SVT Classic and the 610's when I needed them. Even with the VLE knob on my MB combo, it's not the same as a tube setup. It's not hard to move gear if you use the right support equipment like straps and a dolly with tires instead of little hard plastic wheels even stairs are not hard to maneuver with support equipment. Once I had to move gear up a long series of steps (like 3 stories) 180 turns every 10 steps (like 6 turns) and across a 25 or 30 ft cat walk to get on to a Aircraft Carrier for a 12 hour friends and family cruise. Having the gear in touring cases and straped to a dolly made all the difference (less trips up and down and 10X easier). I watched these other guys do the same thing with their gear piece by piece muscling all of it up the steps with their "rock star" garb on, I thought they were going to cry it was funny. So I would keep your gear and invest in support equipment.

I'm playing a LMIII head with a Traveler 151P cab for most gigs. I'll never go back to anything heavier, ever! And the stuff sounds killer. Does it sound like Ampeg? No, but serves the songs just as well in its own way. It's still a great bass tone, and I'm running flats getting an old-school sound with it. The only thing I might change is to get one or two Barefaced cabs eventually. And a backup amp (not sure what yet).
