Just got my first ever Jazz bass guitar after 50 years of playing. Learning about dealing with hum from the Single coil pick ups and also having to deal with some grounding and shielding issues.
My absolute favorite strings are Labella black wound nylon flats. From what I've been told, the nylon wrapping is not a good idea when dealing with grounding shield and etc. So I am considering a switch. The Labella's sound brighter than standard flats because of the round wound interior. The combination of the round wound interior plus the nylon creates kind of a hybrid between round round and flat wound strings, closer to flat wound of course but has the brightness and the nylon ads a warmth that I often don't find in many strings.
Would greatly appreciate any suggestions as to what I might explore!
