Nice color combo! I now have a swapping neck idea..

That one's a Squier Matt Freeman. If you can score one of those necks I think you'll be very happy. I've owned and played a lot of PB type basses over the years. Even currently own a "real Fender PB." But I've gotta say the neck on the Squier Freeman sig is one of the nicest (if not THE nicest) PB necks I've ever played.

Are they both from the same era? … I think the white would be from the very early run, I had one and was less than impressed, probably liked it the least of the many Squier VM's I had … the natural/maple is that from the time they used the DD pups or the Fender Design? …

I guess if it came down to must keep one, and only one, probably 'the lightest one' unless I completely liked one over the other in terms of sound/playability … I like the aesthetics of the natural one better … but would probably take some wet sandpaper or ScotchBrite to the body and knock the gloss down a bit to a 'satin' … if the neck was high (hopefully not) gloss, I would take it down to nothing … I hated the last couple VM's I got with the high gloss finishes, even on the neck … feels/looks like they dipped them in poly … I also prefer the DD era pups ..
