Which pickguard for a natural finish?

Just popped on a new Fender Black Glass Sparkle pickguard that came in the mail to my bass... and I like it :)

My KSD J6V70 should be getting here soon. I was kind of thinking about replacing the pickguard with something a little different.

Any ideas? What pickguard do you like best on natural basses?

For this particular bass I would try:

Clear

White or whatever matches the inlays

a guard made from maple that matches the finish of the fretboard

Translucent black might be cool

for the clear, you could then print out whatever you want, such as a tasteful pinup and put it underneath. Then you could join the pinup club!

Mine came with black, it's a classic look (classic on a classic, I slay myself)...but white, mint, tort and probably a gazillion other colors would look good too -

...but a black guard has an ethereal transcendent effect on tone so....
