So for you tort enthuisasts, I love me some tort too - but I'm trying to not repeat pickguards. I have a gorgeous red tort guard on one of my Drake customs - pictured below (those red strings were purchased by mistake and are no longer on this bass, lol!) One of these days I'll get a Spitfire tort guard (darker one) made and put it on something, but they're kinda spendy.

i voted "purple candy crush" --- but i'm hungry, so there's that...

i almost always go for black, but i've seen so many great looking ax/pickguard combinations on TB that i'm game for anything --- especially on your ax! seriously, @TimBosby, don't let the naysayers in --- both of those pickguards are great choices because they're not tort! :D have fun with your pickguards!

I'm old, and more traditional, if you were selling that bass, I'd ask for the original pickguard to go with it.

But my wife says I have no sense of style, so either pickguard is probably a good choice. I might go for brass or copper. As a side benifit it helps reduce noise.

I recently put this baby together with a Fender American Performer body and Freestone neck. Delano pickups and Kluson bridge. I had two pickguards made by Chandler: one in Purple Candy Crush and one in Tan Conch. Both were a bit of a gamble but I love them both. Which would you choose? Don't say tort... lol. I love tort but my goal was to do something a bit weird here.

If It had to choose between the two, the Purple Candy Crush. Pops a bit more than the Tan Conch.

I voted Purple Candy Crush, because purple is almost always the right answer.
Except when the question is: What is almost always not the right answer?

Wait, what?
