Which Preamp?

All of those are great preamps but aso check out the Fender TBP-1. I use to have one and still regret selling it. It's warm and kind of vintage sounding, doesn't do "hi-fi" but neither your music styles so I think it's a nice option too.

If not get a BBE BMAX for less than $300 and you'll have an awesome preamp for very little.

Peace.

I have a question about the Demeter 1.5 space pre's. Did all of them have the Jensen transformer? I know there's the 201,the201DB & the 201DBL, which is B+ voltage & effects loop, but how do you know if there's a Jensen transformer?
When I bought my 1 1/2 space VTBP-201 DBL years ago, I only remember VTBP-201 L and VTBP-201 DBL as choices. The DBL has the Jensen, and the L does not. Don't know about DB.

I've listened to most of the pre's on Bass Tasters over the past few weeks. I like the Read alot. I don't know if they're available.

The Read rocks! I own one. Most of the time I run it with the EQ bypassed. Jack Read isn't making them right now, but the word here on TalkBass is that an updated version of that preamp will be available sometime in the future.

Where can i find more information on the future of the Read preamp?

There were some rumors back in the spring -- if you do a search for "purity" (it's called a Read purity), you might find those threads.

In the meantime, for no other reason than to celebrate my purchase of a new digital camera, here are two gratuitous pics of my two-channel Brunetti:

And the inside, showing the seven tubes:
