Double Bass Which reverb for DBish sound?

I have repeatedly read that adding some reverb can help to make sound of EUB closer to upright bass. Which type of reverb would you suggest? Hall, room or plate? THX.

I've only ever added reverb to EUB when recording, not live, but if done subtly it can give it a more organic, less "direct" sound. I treat it as if the body of the bass is a small room. It takes a surprisingly little amount of reverb, just barely enough to make it sound like you're hearing a bit of the echo from inside the body of the instrument. Spring is too artificial, and hall is usually too much even at minimum settings.

Do I understand correctly that out of those three types (hall/room/plate) you would use room? Thank you.

No, it is not. The title of this thread is "which reverb". I clearly stated in my OP, that I wanted to achieve result A (DBish sound). Salcott stated that he wanted to achieve result B (best version of itself) so his comment was clearly off-topic and irrelevant. The fact that you consider my reply thanking salcott for his help cheeky confirms the irrelevance of his comment. If you considered his comment relevant, you would not view my "thank you" as being cheeky.

My reply was an attempt to find out whether salcott has anything to say on the topic of "which reverb".

Please note that replying "no effect" to a post titled "which effect" is considered trolling in other parts of this forum - see the link below. I thought my little polite irony was better than reporting the comment to administrators.
'no effects' trolling in the Effects forum

I respect comments of others expressing their doubts about effectiveness of using reverb for the stated purpose (DBish sound). But I would like the comments to focus on the topic of this thread ("which reverb"). I already bought EBS Dynaverb pedal and now I am seeking an advice on which type of reverb to use (there is a switch on the pedal).

That being said, I meant no ofense and didn't want to treat salcott disrespectfully. If I did, I am offering him my apology.
K. You might read your posts first. Inflection doesn’t translate in a forum.

The best reverb would be the impulse response from the bass body convoluted to your bass input signal. It is more kind of a special multi tap delay than a reverb, but could be translated to a multitap delay with (multiple) feedback.
You could mimic that with a very short time reverb with (not too much) feedback and extremely short first reflections.
This is still not the real thing but the closest you can get for a traditional style reverb unit.
And of course room should come closest, maybe plate, not spring and most probably not hall.
But try, you got some hints how to start.

In my experience only in the "dryest" of rooms does adding reverb help with making it sound more acoustic. That being said if you are playing solo and especially arco a very carefully tuned room reverb sounds great and a bit more authentic. I use a TC Electronic Hall of Fame with my NS Design NXT 4. Hope my experience helps

He shouldn't add reverb of a room (just using the program's named room) but the reverb of the vibrating top that is missing on a stick bass.
Not exactly possible with a common reverb unit but short delay, short but different early reflection times and some feedback should do better than nothing. Needs a lot of experimentation for a good result.

EBS DYNAVERB USER MANUAL Pdf Download.

Delay time (Decay) is the A/B/C switch.
Shortest delay time = setting A.

Least reflections = Room.

Reverb knob = dry-wet blend knob (start full clockwise the wind backwards to taste).

Tone is a 1-20kHz LPF (start full clock wise).

PS. This unit is STEREO so the best results by far will be achieved thru a stereo setup.

No values listed but 100-200ms delay has been mentioned here on TB as ideal delay time.

This helped me a lot. Thank you!

Gig report: yesterday, we played with our celtic rock band (drums/cajon, EUB, ac guitar, violin, mandolin, dobro) in a big club (500+). It was supposed to be an acoustic(unplugged) gig, but got prety loud in the end. I used the room reverb for slower songs and my NXT EUB (switch in arco position) really reminded URB. I didn't use it for faster songs though...
