Which should I ask for?

Different take on the issue: Digitech Bass Synt Wah. I had an EHX BBM, which I sold 'cause it was useless in our mix (2 guitars, drums, yeller). I got a better result on mode 4 with the BSW, plus I use it as an octaver and occasional filter. Lots of use for 1 pedal.

Is it just me or is that a guitar pedal?

It is but it does sound good on bass. It sounds better on a passive bass than it does on an active and I'm looking for something more specifically made for bass.

I use my Dubstortion/Dubfuzz for all of my dub/synth needs.

I asked my parents for a new pedal for this Christmas/birthday but I don't know which one to pick. I'm in the <$120 range because I asked for a new iPod to replace my current one. I've narrowed choices down to three distortion/OD/fuzz pedals:

MXR El Grande Bass Fuzz

EHX Bass Big Muff

MXR Blowtorch (use Blogger option to vote for this)

I voted "Other" because I don't like any of the options you listed. However, if you have tried the El Grande and liked that one, then go for it!

I've been digging the Diesel Dawg. Much better than the Double Muff I had before.

got a lot of fuzz, but really a lot over the years (more than 100...) and I really think the best for my taste and use are the Big Muff clones:
Blackout effectors Musket is really a good one, a bit more useable than others, a bit more modern but it sounds damn good...

sold them all to keep only one, another Big Muff clone but the best I've ever tried:

the classic ram's head tone with a lot of cool features with the 2 toggle switch, really the most useable fuzz I've ever used on bass. Big Muff is not really good to cut trough the mix but with that one, you can use your fuzz in your band!

I was hanging out at the guys band practice so I only got to use the setting that he use for a song the were practicing.

Like everyone else here, I'd say avoid all the choices you have listed. The Swollen Pickle is a solid option around for price range. For just a little bit more you could get a Grey Stache which is a great option as well.

I think I might go with the Blowtorch or the Big Muff. I'm looking more towards a distortion pedal because I have the Swollen Pickle and 2 multi-FX with fuzz effects on them.

cheap bass fuzzes? I'd check out Fuzzhugger. Or sometimes a Superfuzz variant. or a FUZZROCIOUS GREY STACHE is a much excellenter alternative

but, best recommendation ever: smallsound/bigsound team awesome fuzzmachine
