Which strings do you like the least?

Any string I have played made by Fender. Always sounds lifeless and make me feel like I have to fight to play them.

Any half round. they feel gritty and will slow you down, plus sound like mud.

ROTOSOUND doesn't last for me at all and the tone is artificial... IMHO

...and the round wounds eat frets fast. I avoid them. I know others love 'em, but I tried and can't.

In all seriousness, I haven't experienced with enough different strings to despise any in particular. So far I've liked several different light-to-medium gauge strings, but only when they're newish. Old strings rub me the wrong way...

Lakland stainless strings are pretty dull for SS. GHS Boomers died pretty fast on me. Elixers are half dead sounding even when new.

Fender Steels followed by Nickels.
Then followed by Dean Markley, but it's more I've had so many problems with their strings more than the sound of their strings (though their DM Misfits strings are some of the worst).

I like Cleartone strings the absolute least, enough to say I hate them and they are a waist of money! There, I said it!

ghs brite (very misleading name indeed) flats. they are actually halfrounds which are duller sounding than any flatwounds that i've tried. halfrounds are neither fish nor flesh imo...

TI Jazz Flats were my least favorite until I bought a set of Fender nylon tapewounds on here. Now they're my least favorite.

GHS Bass boomers... too stiff (I love ernie ball strings, they're like rubber bands)

I generally hate steel strings and like nickels when we are talking roundwounds.

I agree. A guitarist friend of mine bought his first bass and asked me to do a setup. Unfortunately the strings he bought were Warwick reds, I wish he'd have asked me before buying.. no tone at all, dreadful feel under the fingers, hard to intonate. I've never liked GHS, I've tried several sets (Super Steels, Bass Boomers) over the years and they've never felt right for me.

I played rotosounds for ages, liked the tone, but they were too rough on my fingers and frets.

Now im using Ernie ball, best strings I ever i played!

So...not to change the subject, but what is one type of string that is almost universally considered acceptable.....or am I asking for too much here?
