Double Bass Whirlwind IMP2?

Anybody used the Whirlwind IMP2? Anything I should know? I just want a basic passive direct box, hopefully to throw in my spares bag and forget about. It can be passive, because the signal will always be pre-amp'd going into it.

They work well for me. Ground lift when needed, plug and go.

I used to have one ... it did the job when I needed it to and was an excellent value given how inexpensive it was.

It'll get the job done. But if you can manage to up your budget by $50 the Radial ProDI sounds better and is a lot sturdier.

The IMP2 has been around for a long time and is a rugged and well-proven design (I owned one back in the late 70's, early 80's). For a backup type of device, I think it would be a good choice.

It's the best-sounding cheap passive DI I've found, compared to DOD, Rolls, etc. That said it's not a tone monster, and I do have a hankering for a good passive Jensen/Radial DI.
