White Guitar Girly

I think white basses look much better with a tortoise shell pickguard for sure.

when i read the title, i though this thread was about a hot white chick who played guitar, preferably with pictures.
i was disappointed. i'm over it.

my Squier Jazz 5 is white. i use it for metal. i was going to buy a white Ibanez SR-something. cheapy. white with black hardware, black body binding, rosewood fretboard, and matching headstock. that thing looked hot.

Your friends are weird.
I know a guy with a hot pink Fender P-bass. That bass is as much a character as the bassist.
It's all in the attitude. Different colors perhaps have a range of standard attitudes people project with them.
But you don't find a lot of standard attitudes among musicians :)
My first acoustic guitar was a white Applause. I wanted a black one to match Paul Simon's Ovation (which he hasn't had since the 80's anyway). But the white guitar won me over. Long before Melissa Etheridge. I still have that guitar though it has faded to a kind of revolting off-white and the fingerboard is heavily grooved.
Then of course there was the white cello in the Strawberry Fields video.

Pink, white, paisley....it's all in the narrow mind of the beholder as to what is or isn't manly.

White basses are really good looking, as are shell pink. I am unsure about paisley though...
:p

Just kidding!

Manly is what you make of it. If you want white, get white. If someone makes fun of it, it is their hangup. The best defense against anyone that criticizes your bass for any reason, is to play it really well!

Damn, now I have this urge to go get a Shell Pink bass and play death Metal with it.....
