I used a BTC pre (just the volume and btc control; the third knob is a dummy). I had it routed for 18 volts last year, but I managed to cram two 9 volts in there before that; however, I vowed never to do that again. Tight fit.

Between the two, I like tort. But consider looking through Pickguardian for different options, or even getting a customized one. Since you are in Chicago, a map of the subway system, or something from the city could be cool.

I cannot decide. I kinda dig the white, which sucks because I just bought the tort awhile back (when pups were black/ different neck).

I'd paint the pick ups. They have paint made especially for plastic, and there are quite a few articles and videos on the web and YouTube on painting guitar pickups. If that's not an option. then white.

in between the two, tort looks better. if it was me though, I'd replace the p pickup cover to black, and either have a black/white/black, or a mirror pg.

I voted tort as its better than the white but as others have said, I think you should try a b/w/b guard which would look stellar tying the white pickups to the guard with the white layer.
