I like both pickups full, and I don't touch the volume knobs at all, so it doesn't matter to me.

That looks like an elegant solution. And harder to accidentally flip when playing energetically.I do NOT like toggle switches, and on my Mustang, I replaced the single toggle switch with two on/off rocker switches:

It seemed to be the easiest solution, though not very versatile, appealing most to someone who's always running 100%, and I think a blend pot would have been a better solution, but that would have required major rework of pick guard and/or control plate.
