Who else cannot stand jazz basses?!

Hopefully I am not the only one, but I CANNOT stand the feel of a jazz. I love the sound, but the neck always feels a bit funny to me, I have never played one with low action, and I cannot stand playing on the pickups. Who else is with me?

In my opinion they can be uncomfortable at times because the neck is so narrow, yet very round on the back. If they were more flat it wouldn't be an issue at all, not that it is much of an issue to begin with. I prefer wide/flat necks, but my main player has a jazz style neck.

You've never played a properly setup Jazz Bass. I play between the pickups.

I like the offset body, but I agree it's rare that one feels good in my hands. 5 strings are better than 4 though for that issue.

As for your high action? Just do a setup.

Well, Jazz necks certainly work better for my hands, P necks not so much. I guess it's a good thing there are different flavors...

Wouldn't say I hate them, just haven't found one that spoke to me. The necks are pretty small IMO. I'm accustomed to 5 string necks or Pbass necks. I always like what I hear from them on recordings. Then I go to the store trying to like one enough to buy, but never find the one.

I haven't owned a Jazz in many years but I've owned some nice ones, including a few pre-CBS Fenders.

They aren't my favorite bass, but I do dig them and wouldn't mind having one again someday.

Some of my favorite players play(ed) Jazzes almost exclusively.

Hmmm...Sorry man, but I think the Fender Jazz is the best bass ever made. Besides the amazing playability, they look absolutely beautiful.

Different strokes for different folks. I tend not to like P's. There's also a lot out there in the world of jazz basses, and not all of them have the same necks!

That's what I did and now I love my Jazz. It is my least used bass, but sometimes I need it.

I own one, it never gets played. Sounds anemic (to me) compared to my stingrays.. Different strokes I suppose..

I find if you coat them in honey, and then roll them in push pins, they can be very uncomfortable to play. Otherwise, I enjoy them, for the most part.
