Who else cannot stand jazz basses?!

Blue basses are by far the worst, They have no tone as the pigments completely cancel out the natural resonance of the woods. Also if the bass was painted blue over seas it wont set up properly and will buzz even with the action at 1 inch.

i hated all fenders after having 3 early on in my playing and feeling awkward so i didnt touch one and bashed them for a decade. fast forward to yesterday, a fender jazz just showed up i bought after me attempting to reassure myself they are in fact still garbage..and fk me, the thing plays unbelievable. Either my playing style has changed and im seasoned or ive been a stubborn fender hating douche for no reason

I'm with the OP, neck's too thin, while the body was just too wide, in spite of the contours. My second(and first good)bass, was a '66 P that I got when I was 14. Beefy neck, beefy pick up. I grew up with it, so a J feels weird to me. A Precision just seems more 'rock'n'roll'.

Hopefully I am not the only one, but I CANNOT stand the feel of a jazz. I love the sound, but the neck always feels a bit funny to me, I have never played one with low action, and I cannot stand playing on the pickups. Who else is with me?

Just switxh necks out. Get a jazz bass and get a mighty mite neck and fit it on.

This exactly. I built a jazz bass with precision-sized fretless neck that I absolutely love.

I don't like jazz bass ergonomics or the sound of most jazz basses.

That said I own a jazz now with Delano pickups and a C width P neck and it kills. I also had a Ben Lindsay jazz with barts that had tone for days as well.

I agree with the OP to certain degree. The neck is too narrow at the nut, at least for my hands. It feels uncomfortable to play between fret 1 and 7. Soundwise it's a different story. They are super versatile. It would be nice if one could choose from two or three neck widths.

I love my Precision and my Jazz. I prefer the Jazz neck.
