Who else finds the new Jerzy Drozd__^ singlecut ugly?

It probably plays and sounds lovely. Each to their own though, I wouldn't go out and spend my hard-earned on it, but someone will probably think it's perfect.

i think jerzy says on his new blog that it likely isn't the final body cut. i think he even mentions it may look too much like another maker's design and he would like to get away from that. i didn't like it at first, but the more i look at it the more it grows on me. now if i can just win the contest i would LOVE it.

I think you are right, I should be more careful with wording, sorry. It's like when your girlfriend/wife comes with a new hair style and asks you about it. And you reply: "well... it's interesting" which actually means ... it's not proper to use the word
So that treble side horn looks interesting to me and I see that I'm not the only one who thinks so.
The "Musicvox Spaceranger" bass vibe is a nice example, yes it is not as exaggerated as this one but has that vibe at least...
I've said about precision bass upper horn to visualize it, not to compare and I think it was fairly clear...

Back to the OP, I am not a huge fan of the lower horn extension shape (maybe a different. And from my own experience, for a 5str B-G, I'd love it to be 34" or 35" (very subjective I know), and it becomes even more subjective given the high level of attention as well as the materials and high level of construction that Jerzy is well known for

I am with you, I never criticize the extraordinary works that Jerzy Drozd is putting. I had the pleasure to play his basses at his shop and the basses were better than perfect. And he is the nicest and most friendly guy that you can ever meet. I admire all the models that he has put so far from Excellency to Sequel, even the Barcelona; from 4 strings to Yves Carbonne's bass, from 36 frets to double necks... I'm a fan of everything he has made so far, not a single example that I disliked the proportions or any detail on bass. But that treble side horn looks interesting

I could not get used to the upper horn (the G string side) of the new Jerzy Drozd single cut (you know the banner you see here in TB). All of his basses so far had a great taste of proportion and elegance for me. But this one... you know the upper horn looks weird to me. And it makes the whole instrument looks incomplete and ugly (again for me).

Well - I didn't want to say anything, but you did.

I don't care for the look either - I was going to enter the contest, but I couldn't (gulp) think of an appropriate name for it that Jerzy would like.

Talk to him on his blog, he's always interested in feedback as far as I'm aware. He even openly invites constructive criticism of new designs.

I don't know...I really love his other designs, and I'm not a BIG single-cut fan....But there's something about this one that I LIKE!!!!

Yeah, I'd like to tweak the body shape just a tad and shrink/move that lower horn a bit...but in all, I kind of dig it.
I'd dig it even more if he gave it to ME!
