Well he sure gets a great sound out of it!

Haha he's used that bass (he still had his original 1986 off the wall at GC, now he has them custom shopped) since...well 1986. Every Guns N' Roses song and Velvet Revolver song and anything else he's played bass on is recorded (and pretty much everything live) is on a JBS

yep ! and if someone here have watched the basses review made by Ed Friedland for GuitarMag on youtube would have discovered that any bass can growl and have a tone very clean for a jazz solo ... it is all in the EQ and your personnal taste
