...No argument from me.....:D

the one that starts with "A" and ends with "mpeg"

Check the sig, most winningest combo ever (would be more winning if i swapped the 3pro for a SVT..., but winning enough)

But it really depends on the bass, i think. I've heard some active basses (like my cort for example) that really don't sound as good as passives through my system. I think Ampeg is awesome for Passive stuff only, and ok for active stuff. One thing though, my rig was the backline for a school show, and someone had a G&L ASAT and it sounded AWESOME. Rickenbackers and Fenders sound awesome through my rig. If i were ever to get a real SVT, it wouldn't be one of these crappy cratepeg's their selling now, it would be pre 80's for me. Although, my bass instructor has a sweet B-25 (55W all tube) that sounds AWESOME, and hes running it through craptastic 10" monitors (just for our lessons). but he has an 8x10 for when its needed, but the sound of that thing is awesome!

Chippie? Burger? Ampeg is awesome. I have the SVT CL and Im starting to wonder if the vintage ones are that much better to warrant selling the one I have to get a vintage one. Ampeg is probably the king... :bassist:

Depends on what you mean by "king". If you mean most popular than Ampeg. If you mean "best" than that's subjective. I've had a lot of righs over the years by a lot of different manufacturers and my personal favorite (and current rig) is a Glockenklang. It has the best pure tone I've heard.

However if I was playing hard rock or metal, I would go with something more gritty like ampeg.
