Who is your favorite band?

I like Primus because its awesome. They play Primus. And I just saw them live a couple weeks ago.

I felt compelled to revise my answer because i actually have a solid three way tie going on.
I absolutely love the Gorillaz. Just all around great music. They go way beyond Feel Good Inc, fellow musicians.
Also the Arctic Monkeys really prompted me to play bass again. their old albums had so much energy and angst i just knew it was for me. I tend to like rapping more than singing it seems...

Yes. The first time i seen the video for back against the wall i was like it that guy playing guitar Kurt Cobain i rewinded and watched that video four times. I had to look them up because i thought they were a 90s band i had'nt heard of. Such a good band and some of their songs have a really strong bass presence also like Shake me down fairly easy sounding bass lines but it is easy to pick up in the song. It seems like kt would be great for someone training their ears.

Well I've been a Primus and 311 fan as long as I've been playing music, but I gotta say my favorite band right now is Gov't Mule. And also I've been really digging Jarle Bernhoft's stuff (found a link to his stuff on another forum here and it blew my friggin' mind!)

And tons of others but, as for influences and how much of an impact they had on me that's it.

But, nones had more of an impact on me than the DP's they've got me into writing songs, punk music, got me wanting to record some jams, AND made me want to pick up a instrument. The DP's are like family and eventhough the incarnation I knew as the DP's changed up Jason is really the heart and soul of that band the rest of us are just painbrushes and I'm one happy paintbrush.

I would say that the music generated by the band YES (with Jon, Chris, Steve, Alan, and Rick) is on a level far above anything else I have heard (IMO).

Of course, that was until I heard these guys:

Jon Anderson could learn a thing or two from THAT lead singer. And Chris, Steve, and Alan need to work on their syncopated hair spinning while playing Close to the Edge.
