Ya TAK took the Explorer to the extreme.
Here's my other one:

there are plenty of insanely pointy low production or custom basses out there, but I have to really appreciate the mass produced versions that withstood the test of time and are still sold in stores today.

I know, it's got slightly rounded edges but it's still pretty pointy...

& I never use it for Metal....

I love Pointy Basses, Currently on my second Warlock.

First one was a 18's NJ series Cracklebody with reverse Headstock

Current one Is a Platinum Series Twin P with Black Widow Headstock

Always wanted a Jackson Kelly Bass though lol

Despite what other comments in this thread suggest, a pointy bass is not necessarily unplayable, uncomfortable, or suffering from poor ergonomics. Surprisingly enough, they can be pretty nice while a bass shaped suspiciously "normal" can be pretty terrible.

My Exploiter, Bich, CS-74, and Explorer are great sounding, well balanced, comfortable basses.
