Who makes a good Thumb Rest/Tug Bar?

I'm sure I can find a generic black plastic rectangular thumb rest at StewMac, and frankly a generic black plastic rectangular thumb rest is all I really need for this bass

...but this is TalkBass, and so I know some of y'all are dialed into the unique, bespoke, beautiful, and/or out-of-left-field products available for bass! So before I go with something pedestrian, are there any other products I might consider?

I went with Hipshot in black when I was modifying my Player II Precision Bass. They also make a chrome, gold, and nickel. Thumb Rest

Zero Mod has an interesting shape on their version and they make clear and ruby versions (more than just black like most): Fender Classic Block

I get these 1/2 round clear 1/2" plexi rods on Amazon I cut to length and stick with double sided tape.

these look more black because I magic markered the bottoms before sticking

I love a full ramp, and use it as thumb rest when I feel like it. For the Stingray style a Tim Commerford style ramp in front is great, I've added one to both of my Rays

EBay used to have nice wooden pieces for sale. It’s long since I’ve looked but check that.

for that bass I'd run a strip of ebony (most local instrument builders will probably have some leftovers from ebony fretboards) between the end of the fongerboard and the pickup. Way more elegant and functional than a regular fender style thumb rest.

The Höfner rest is a few LEGO pieces and some aluminum rod that I found in the hobby section of the local toy store. It’s nondestructive, as it uses the pickup mounting screws.



The Rick rest is the thickest bicycle spoke I could find. It’s my virtual B string, and sits right in line with the thumb rest on the Treble Bezel.



Now I need to figure out what to do for my Aerodyne and my Jack Casady.

and for a non-permanent solution I saw these posted recently (held on with suction cups, they have a film addition for mounting on other materials): Thumb Fin Bass Thumb Rest : Ergonomic. Adjustable. Universal.
