Who makes & Where to get a Blend pedal?

Gonna bump this...

Spending too much time in the effects forum gives one a lot of GAS.

I'm looking at getting a blend pedal and what barge concepts has to offer seems really nice. So, I'm looking at the VB-jr and the VFB-2.

My main reason for getting a blend pedal is to add some bottom end back to my Big Muff. I also figured "hey, maybe I can finally add my original MXR stereo chorus and script phase 90 back into my chain" because they usually suck out a lot of tone.

My (somewhat stupid) question is can I use each of these pedals (not necessarily on all at once) with the VB-jr or do I need to get the VFB-2?

The VFB-2 is only ten bucks more so it's not like I'd be breaking the bank, but I don't think I'd have any use for the feedback capabilities it has, so I figure why pay more and put up with the somewhat larger footprint?

I guess my concern is (stupid question continued) will the VB-jr only affect the pedal next to it since it doesn't have a Send and Receive like the VBF-2?

it's got to have an in & out + a send & receive... I can't think how a "blend" could happen otherwise.

No, no, no - you must've misunderstood the text of their product page, or the photo, or something...

It has send/receive jacks - it couldn't possibly work if it didn't have them. All four jacks are top-mounted.

lol - sorry guys that's exactly where I got confused. To me in the picture, it looks like it only has two jacks so I couldn't figure out how it could possibly work.

there must be 4 jacks on the top... or maybe a pair of stereo jacks, but that would make for the need for custom cabling / adaptors

even though I am getting (soon I hope) a custom dual blend pedal I spec'ed out, I might grab one of those little Barge jobs as well.

Tempted to get one of these, especially as it's tiny and I'm running out of precious board room. I was leaning towards the Xotic one though because of the invert phase switch. Anyone know how useful that is? I've heard compressors can invert the phase of your signal so you'd need such a feature if using a comp in your blend loop. Any other effects that would require it?

Many dirt boxes invert your signal; compressors generally do not. The reason you might want to invert your blended signal with a compressor is in case blending the dry and compressed signals caused too much of an amplitude spike whenever the waves matched up. I use the phase invert switch on my Xotic all the time, I consider it an indispensable tool, well worth the trouble. There's no guarantee that the inversion would help any/every blended signal, but it does help some of them, enough of the time that I'm glad to have that option.

there are in fact 4 jacks on the top of the VB-Jr, i got mine in the other day and it rocks! exactly what i need and in such a smaller size than the original

Yeah, but every time you get a raise or a better-paying job, those forums are more likely into seducing you to buy expensive basses and amps.

As long as you're logged into TB, you'll never escape the deadly GAS that fills the forums here.

Heh - I've recently started my own small business (big mistake after just finishing university ). Being my own boss has it's pro's and con's but the pay sucks

Touché Mind you, TB has led me on to some nice equipment. No more spending lots of money on what turns out to be crappy gear. I've been really happy with all of my investments since I started lurking here.

Theres also the Boss LS-2. You don't get true bypass but you do get a dual looper for a good price.

I have a Barge VFB-2, its very cool. I think its the kind of pedal that you will eventually find a use for somewhere.

I have the 1 effects loop. 1 feedback loop model adn I NEVER use the feedback.

Same with me.
So I just ordered 2 VB-Jrs: one regular one and one with the phase reversal option.
