PA short for Public Address does an excellent job of bringing the whisper of a voice and the crack of a snare plus all the other instruments to the house/public.
I want my tone to be my contribution in my band amplified so the public can hear us like we want them to.
It is about the soundman. It's also about a band being able to balance themselves as musicians.
I hate being in the monitors. Rarely can they do the punch etc that my cab can. Conversely I have heard myself in Golden Gate Park in sidefills that just killed!
