Just think, you'd only have to buy one string instead of a full set! It's fretless and has a homemade pup! I'm not connected with the builder but thought the copy and video in the listing were hysterical.

That's rather fun looking! Reminds me of when I was a lot younger, myself and a couple of the guys out the band I was in used to get together, drink beer, smoke cheap cigars and play skiffle for the fun of it. This looks like an electric version of the tea-chest bass I made.

A single string costs almost as much as a set. No advantage there. Otherwise, it's pretty cool!

A wash tub bass with a piezo is another way to go too!
