Who uses a combo + extension?

I don't have a combo anymore, but have owned seven of them (starting in 1963), and have played through dozens regularly. My offering here is my combo-ish, comb-huge-ic, or comboistic fEARful rig with extension cab.

Since the head is tiny tiny, it's almost as much of a combo as some of the behemoths I have seen in the various combo threads about combos on TB. Ok, I'm a jerk. LOL.

Absolutely! I run my Markbass 210 combo with a traveler 15". Has been a nice setup for me.

My 1x15 extension cab almost never gets needed. The combo is really just idling anyway, I've never had the master past 10 o'clock!

I do, that's who. For 8 years I used a Ampeg B248 (350watts, 4x8) combo on top of an Ampeg 15. Nice tone but heavy and a bit volume shy for heavy rock. I went GK 10 or so years ago and settled on the 700rb2 + 1x12 and a 2x12. Awesomeness. Well it just got awesome-er. Replaced my 1x12 and 700rb with a 700rb combo. Easier to carry as one piece, easier to get setup, still looks cool. The ONLY thing I feel I lost is the ability to only use the 2x12 with the amp. Anyone else using a similat approach? Do you find yourself using the combo alone most of the time?

SWR Super Redhead... the Bag End D10B-D ext.cab (2X10, no tweeter) adds just what's needed (not needed much lately). It's plenty loud enough for any venue, 140lb with that Bag End, and well worth the schlep when needed! I'm 71 now and use the folding dolly.
Usually now just use a little 27lb SWR Spellbinder Blue (in the avatar) as a monitor and out to FOH.

Oh, yes; I’m back to combo gigging. I’ve recently acquired the GK Legacy 112 and a matching Neo IV 112.

The combo alone does most indoor clubbing gigs.

And, the stack does the bigger outdoor event stages.

Way more than enough potent clean push in either configuration. Not nearly as much “cool” factor as my stackables, but soooo practical.

I posted my former 'big rig' in post #69: it has been donated to a church where it can sit permanent and not be schlepped around (at 140lb - I'm in my 70's and done).
This little SWR Spellbinder Blue combo won't power a 2nd cab, so my new 'big rig' adds a Wayne Jones 2X10 Powered Cab from a fellow TBer.
At half the weight, half the size (a one-handed schlep with the tiltback casters), and twice the power (1160W total!) of my former 'big rig' for decades; I am very happy with it.
Blending a SansampBDDIv2 with the tube preamp of the Spellbinder Blue (w/aural enhancer, parametric EQ, and compressor) sounds great!
