WHOA...Digitech The Drop

Actually setting the setting, and then navigating to it was difficult, it was also difficult to tell when the pedal was on/off if I recall on stage. I screwed things up more often than not- I'd go to hit the big low C# opening notes in the song, and something was right. Sure enough, my note were just plain old standard low E and out of tune with the song, because the pedal wasn't on/ or not on the right preset.

On the Drop, the added octave is down.
Yes, that was my understanding. I got confused by the comment about playing 'Jeremy' by Pearl Jam which, in my experience, needs an octave up to get that 8-string sound (yes, I know it was recorded with a 12-string!). And you can't play an octave up because, aside from not sounding so good on the main riff, you can't do the outro (which is the best bit!).

I assumed he meant that you would play it an octave up and have the Drop on the Octave/Dry setting. That would probably sound "good enough" for live.

I finally broke down and ordered one, so enough of this speculating and asking for other's reviews, I'll know for myself soon enough.

I haven't had a chance to use it with my rig / other pedals yet so I'm reserving judgement. That said, plugging it in direct to my interface reveals that it's pretty latent. I'm fine with that - I don't really see how you can make this pedal without latency given what it does. I'm just hoping it sounds more natural vs. the M5 in the mix once I get it on my board. Will check back then!

New video from Just Nick, posting on the Digitech Facebook page. Can't wait for mine to get here...

Still on backorder at Musician's Friend. Supposed to be getting them the 24th.

I already ordered from MF before I knew they were on backorder. I ordered over Labor Day and got them to match Prymaxe's 20% off (Prymaxe was out of stock at the time).

Got a shipping notice (yesterday I think), but still no tracking info in the system yet. Beat Buddy is also on the way. If I get really motivated I will do some guitar and bass demos using the Beat Buddy and Infinity for a truly uniform comparison of the Drop and the Morpheus Droptune.

And they usually kick it up to 20% on holidays. Labor Day, Black Friday/Thanksgiving, etc. They might do it for Columbus Day if you can wait that long.
