Who's in sales?

My wife is in sales. She used to sell advertising, well - I guess she still does. When she worked for radio stations, I pretty much understood what she did - but now she is a partner in an advertising agency and I don't really know how or why anybody gives her money at all - but they do. I do know that she is part owner of a fully equipped professional recording studio - that's pretty cool.

My opinion is that sales is the type of job that some people are suited for and others aren't. I can't sell, other guys could sell heaters in hell. There seems to be different types of sales that some people are better suited for. My wife likes to meet new people, make contacts, (network) get to know peoples business needs and try to sell them what they need - she refuses to make cold calls. She says she just can't sell with cold calls - but some people can cold call and sell. find out what type of sales you are best at and look for the best sales job you that fits your style.

If you plan on going into business for yourself, get incorporated! That way you can buy like cars on pre-taxed dollars.

Well, let's put a few caveats on that. In the US, there are a
number of diiferent model structures for doing business,
sole proprietorship, partnerships, S Corporations, C Corps,
LLC - limited liability corporations, that all serve specific
business and tax structure needs.

A real good dose of advice from a tax attorney is called for
before an incorporation, and before you go handing gobs of unneccessary taxes to your government, as all
taxpayers are entitled to minimize their tax situations legally.

Matthew Creeps, cool story, sounds like a real keeper
of a woman.

Now, what exactly did she see in you again... ?
