Whose the most famous person you've ever met

I was pretty impressed to meet the man who discovered sickle cell anemia he also had seen charlie Parker play at birdland he may not have discovered it he made advances in it's treatment I think

When I worked for MTV, I met probably 40 of the most famous celebrities/musicians in the world. Julia Stiles was the nicest by far. Sam Jackson was pretty cool to me - we talked about cigarettes. However, in my mind, no more so than all of Metallica. Keanu Reeves...no big deal. Metallica = I was totally star struck.

I had them all in my 6 man golf cart to shuttle them to the press tent after their performance. During the ride, James says (word for word) "Halle Berry is so hot, they should have a charity event where she sits against a wall and everyone gets to **** her mouth."

Then I got lost in Sony Studios, and our cart ran out of batteries. They abandoned the cart and just started walking around, not knowing where to go.

Eddie Mercx.

I was standing at the barricades by the start/finish line before the men's road race at the 1986 UCI World Cycling Championships In Colorado Springs. Eddie gets out of one of the official cars, walks over, shakes hands with the well dressed gentleman standing beside me and says "Ah- Seniori Santini, so good to see you again!" (Santini is a well known Italian cycling clothing brand.) So I shook Eddie's hand too.

Al Gore 1996, visiting my jobsite for the DNC in Chicago. He broke some computer equipment, I was called up to fix it.

I technically also met B.O., but he was a nobody then, we were just in the same room.

Your one shot at impressing Metallica, you completely blow up your duty.
It takes a lot to impress me.

I don't know why we fawn over politicians. The majority of them are corrupt, power hungry, ego driven talentless hucksters. That goes for the one in the White House now and pretty much all the rest before him back to Ike. I would not mind having met a true 'statesman' but that breed seems sing extinct.

I'm more impressed by a very good airport sax player trying to make a name than any political clown around.

Shook hands with the Queen and Prince Phillip. She was polite an pleasant, Prince Phillip made a joke to the guy to my right. She enjoyed the show, she said. I always compare this with pretend 'famous' people, like when I was Stage manager for Morrisey - and I had to keep my back to him while he was on stage, in case he made eye contact with me! I was also banned from moving from stage left to stage right at the end, in case I met his band coming off. My retort that I wouldn't even recognise them if I bumped into them didn't cut it. The Queen knew how to be nice to people she had no idea about, Mr Morrisey was a joke.
