You don't have to hold your bass while it falls asleep.

You can pass your bass around for your mates to have a go and not feel weird about it.
You feel flattered if someone comes up expressing a lot of interest in your bass and asks you a lot of questions about it.

Why a bass is better than a boyfriend:
When you're going for a 'date' (gig) your bass doesn't need to get ready, but doesn't mind how long you take.
