Why a bass may be better than a girlfriend

A Bass won't break up with you at 3 in the morning after you move to the other side of the country for it, with no warning or no real reason, then leave you totally alone with no option other than to go back home and wonder what to do next.

Yes, I'm bitter. :hmm:

Basses don't mind if you look at other Basses, or if you buy Bass magazines.
New Basses must be asked for, and if you don't want to pay for them, you don't get them.
If your Bass goes flat, you can tune it.
If your Bass is too loose, you can tighten it.
If your Bass is too soft, you can play it harder.
If your Bass is misaligned, you don't have to discuss politics to correct it.
You can have a beer while playing your Bass.

You don't have to deal with priests or blood-tests to register your Bass.
You don't have to convince your Bass that you're a Bassist and that you think that Basses are equals.
If you say bad things to your Basses, you don't have to apologize before you can play them again.
You can play a Bass as long as you want and it won't get sore.

Basses always feel like going to a gig.
Basses don't insult you if you are a bad player.
Your Bass never wants a night out alone with the other Basses.
Basses don't care if you are late.
You don't have to take a shower before playing your Bass.
It's always ok to use locks on your Bass.
If your Bass doesn't look good, you can paint it or get better parts.
You can't get diseases from a Bass you don't know very well.
