Why am I addicted to looking at basses?

The only problem I have with this is that the cat sees the basses as the perfect teeth-scratching objects (especially the bridge and the knobs).. I have to keep the basses in their bags and cases all the time. This is why I also e-windowshop for gigbags and cases too to go along with awesome dream basses

I wish i had a hard case for my bass, but i cant have everything, rather have the bass than the case

My Fender was shipped in its hard-case. It's great to have one for flights, but it's very difficult/non-convenient to carry around, especially if you don't have a car like me. It's even difficult to have it lying around in a small room I wish to have 5 basses in the future. Two 4-stringers, one with EADG and other with DGCF tunings, a 5er and a 4-string fretless. And I know I will hold on to my first bass forever.
And I definitely want 6 kg+ fluffy cats in the future.
It's a complex you get when people who live downtown look at you like a hillbilly.
I have the exact same problem. Sometimes I truly think there's something wrong with me. But then again, there are worse things to be addicted to. At least this thing can be done from home and doesn't have a stigma tied to it.
Dude, same here. I can't even afford to look at bass strings! Yeah, it's bad. Budgets aren't fun :-( That being said, I just picked up a book (from my local library; can't afford books!) that will hopefully help me deal with this materialism-

Dude, take it from a 15 year old that does the same thing. It is pretty much porn for people that don't want viruses or to get in trouble at work. Hahaha, i do the same thing. I think it is more so you can hope that some day you will be famous and rich enough to get something like what you are looking at. It is just like looking at a Bently on the side of the road and wishing it was yours. Just make sure you don't get TOO into it.
Last year I went nuts and bought a Fender Precision Lyte. Then I helped a friend list a few of his guitars on eBay and I wound up getting the bug and bought a BC Rich Warlock, Fender 70's Reissue Strat, Jackson Stealth, BC Rich USA Gunslinger II, and a Jackson PS4. Yeah 6 new axes. Funny thing was after I bought the P Lyte I had no desire to buy another bass, or so I thought.
I found a Warlock bass from 88 on eBay with crackle finish. I lusted after that stupid thing. I emailed the seller several times to make a deal. I made an offer and he countered back with a price including shipping. I thought about it for a little bit and finally said ok I will take it. The scumbag seller came back and said no deal now it's full price plus shipping. I wouldn't give the guy anything now. What a jerk. At least he stopped me from buying another display axe I don't need.
It's perfectly natural to look. Just make sure you don't go on a buying spree like I did.

It is often referred to as GAS. There is no common cure for it except to buy more gear, but then the GAS comes back stronger
