Why am I addicted to looking at basses?

I don't think there is anything wrong with looking as long as you don't do anything foolish or illegal to feed your obsession. My bass choices have been set for a long time but I still like to look and see what's new and different or not the whole retro and 'road worn' is a bit of a mystery to me at times.

I may have to break some laws for that new lakland coming out, have you seen that this, its awesome! Want...

I know i have no money, yet i still feel the need to look at awesome basses and drool over them.

Welcome to the club!! I was just talking with some buddies about this at last night's gig..I was getting ragged on for showing up with a different bass about every other weekend. My room in the house looks like a Fender Custom Shop ad,and I have absolutely no reason to be GASsey, but it never fails..I'll log on and think "Oooo...I don't have one in THAT color!" I know it's asinine because how many basses can you play at once? And I have a few that are identical except for the color,so that's a bit redundant, but I can't seem to help myself. Ironically, every time I try to thin the herd I end up with more than I started with..It's a vicious cycle!!

You're not alone. Sometimes I find myself wanting to go to a music store just go have a look without buying anything. They're just awesome objects to behold.

I do that, too; most commonly at GC, as they are more used to "the masses" floating through than the higher end stores. I have a good relationship there with a guy in the guitar dept. and a manager who's heading down the road to the biggest guitar house in town. I'll stop in to see him from time to time, but not as often as I'll drop in at GC. Oddly, it is inspirational to go in and noodle a bit on an odd bass, if for no other reason than clarification of something I've recently read.

iJazz - GAS fuels itself!

This happens to me with both basses and transformers (my other hobby). I have more than enough of both, yet I still want more. It's human nature friend.

On a side note, totally missed getting a Metroplex for $20 at Value Village. Anyone who knows anything about transformers will understand the tragedy of this situation.

Whats a metroplex? And are you talking about the movies/toys, or another type of transformer?

I always drool over awesome basses too, and I got my American Deluxe Jazz Bass 10 months ago. And yes, this website isn't helping at all:) My friends always tell me that I'll end up as a crazy bass lady instead of a crazy cat lady. I insist I will be both:D
