The shopping and spending activity itself is associated with a feeling of happiness and power, which is immediately gratifying. The after effects of remorse and guilt drive the spender back to purchase or shop again to be able to achieve that brief, but intense, emotional high.

Research has shown that many compulsive shoppers and spenders also suffer from mood disorders, substance abuse, or eating disorders. As with any addiction, the person becomes dependent on the behavior to relieve negative feelings that cause distress and discomfort.

They may experience anxiety or depression as a result of the spending or shopping, which may interfere with work or school performance.

Jeez...

THAT just sucked all of the fun out of it.

I'm a G.A.S. addict and the only way I've been able to control it is to play music.

It really is that simple. Less time searching online forums and more time working out scales, phrasing and tone, "with the equipment I already own"

Hope that helps, it only cost me thousands of dollars and years of my life to figure it out...........

I'm not alone...Thank God!
After getting the Geddy Lee sig Jazz a year ago I thought "okay, now I'll settle for many many years and won't need to worry about buying new stuff"...yeah right.
And being here at TB doesn't help a bit! Now I'm dreaming of basses I didn't even know existed a few months ago...

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I haven't got enough CASH to match my GAS, but that's why Mastercard is for, isn't it?
