It's really hard for me to beleive these kind of cabs (Fearfull, Barefaced) can compete with an 810. But I never had the chance to try one.

That's the impression I get....I've heard for example people talking about fEARFUL designs blowing their old cabs away.
I've heard that too, and it's possible. New designs, very well engineered could prove your point. I never had the chance to try one of these cabs but I'm seriously considereing it.
It is a different presents, 8x10 stands high in the room, and behind your back. Lots of mid presents, lots of little speakers over a wide area, infinite baffle.
fEARful, Barefaced cabs, and the like. Sometimes smaller footprint, not as high in the room or behind but, massive power handling, more accurate over the frequency spectrum, more lows, mostly ported and stuff like that. Apples and Bananas

Greenboy cabs are nice for sure, but not all of us are looking for PA style bass cabs. But the 810e is very efficient as far as cabs in that style go.
I think anything's the right cab if it brings a smile to your face when you play through it
I've haven't tried any of the newest cabinet designs, but I haven't found a cabinet yet that equals the live sound that the 810E does. Not even my pair of Mesa PH212's, which are very good cabinets.
I don't know, I think having 8 tens at your back in one cab vs 2x15 2x6 HF horn in one cab.
I think that Ampeg is going to push you just by cone inches alone from ankles to shoulders :0l
An (original) SVT is a sweet sixteen. One that really works, that is. Beautiful!
Honestly, you could have just posted the pic of the 2 810s and said nothing.

I still have a conflict with the perceived need to have a giant stack when the FOH should be carrying the room. I want to be heard clearly on stage and admit that a pillow of bass goodness at my back is a pleasant thing, but in most situations I really dont want (and my bandmates dont want) the near totality of the bass to be coming from the stage. This is from someone who still owns and occasionally plays SVTs with 810s.
It doesn't necessarily have to be that way. Did a fly gig last night with an SVT and 810 where I was at the same volume I was with the PF50T and 112hlf Friday. The bigger cab made for a better sonic experience for me, but the volume was the same.
It's all about the Ampeg SVT tone! And how it mixes well in a rock group setting. Definitely worth all the weight and effort.
Yep. It's the way a large tube rig like the SVT feels, as well as the way it sounds. Use a pick, play a Ric (or a Tractor, or a P) and you sound like a force of nature.

That's why I bought my Heritage 810 after trying one at NAMM. The tone was just so good I didn't care about the size of the cabinet.
