Why do cover band always have the corniest names?

My favorite is for our currently on hiatus swing and easy bop attempt, "The Saltines of Swing" (square crackers trying to play jazz).

Now that is clever.

My band once opened for Angry Flannel, a grunge tribute band.

If it's the same "Breakfast Club", IIRC, they are out of the Carolinas and actually had a very solid thing going there for a while. Very business like band with the members pulling down very solid salaries. Can't complain about that.

Still one of the highest paid/drawing cover bands on the east coast...

My friends have a cover band, they call themselves "The Scattered Panties".

There is a band in the State College, PA called Velveeta...it doesn't get any cheesier that that.

I remember them... they play in Altoona, PA quite frequently at this one bar tacked onto a bowling alley (can't remember the bar name).

My dad's in a cover band as the bassist... can't remember the name of it... think it was Billy and the Inmates or something like that... either that, or it's his acoustic group that had that name. Pretty cheesy name, wonder why they chose that...

'The Beatles' was a pretty corny name...

'hey, it's 'Beetles' like Buddy Holly's 'Crickets', except it's got the word 'beat' in it... fab, gear etc'

so don't diss corny named covers bands! some of them are better than others

Local band here on LI that goes by the name Pete Moss and the Fertilizers.

I'd make a remark about how crappy that name is... but uhm... that's too obvious. Good band tho (for a cover band)... tho I prefer their original stuff (for which they go under another name).
