Why do people say Metalcore is good?

What do you mean open E? What metalcore band isn't downtuning these days anyway?

I wouldnt say that the music isnt any good, I do like some of it-I just think there is a lot of music nowadays that sounds the same from band to band-song to song.

A freind of mine gave me a list of bands to download-all metalcore-to be honest I liked some of it-the rest of it-I couldnt tell the difference between songs or bands.

Sounds to me that the core genre is being butchered on the count of genres like metalcore and crabcore(more like crapcore. lol). apparently it's been over used by douchebag musicians who thinks they're the greatest thing since sliced bread, but really they suck. anywho, to answer your question, it's the same reason why mainstream music fans likes today's pop music. it's what's popular. basically metalcore and all those other poor excuse of core bands are just a fad. one day they're popular, the next day they're not. everyone has their own opinions and views on metalcore. I personally don't see the big whoop about this genre. to me, it nothing more than a talentless punk's desperate attempt to be metal and hardcore. they should of taken lessons from metal bands like black label society, pantera, anthrax, testiment, iced earth, etc. those bands make real music.

Jazz only doesn't make sense to people who have no background in theory! I can understand where your coming from though, I had a hard time appreciating jazz until I really got into reading and theory. Now jazz (and fusion) is all I play!

hmmm...that is pretty gross generalization. I know that most of my friends who love jazz have absolutely NO musical background, let alone musical theory background.

My dad was a jazz drummer in the 50's and 60's...and had no melodic music theory background

I'm glad that it's open to people without that kinda background then! Because where I am, only serious theory guys play jazz.
