Why do threads I post in die?

I have had the same feeling. I've concluded:
When it comes to gear, most people aren't interested in the kind of offbeat or Frankensteined / modded junk I am.
I tend to gather a lot of information before I comment on something, so likely the thread was talked out anyway.
Or, I'm too practical, logical, fact focused or frank on "feely" type subjects.
Whatever the case, Everybody here contributes something, even if it's wrong.

True: Gear related preferences are specific to the individual. For example, I love custom "coffee table" basses, while others do not. Just a matter of personal preference.
It's happened to me, but I chalked it to bass players not wanting to follow a drummer...
