Why do you drive the vehicle you do?

i found out that my mother left a 06 cadillac sts v6 in a lot for a year before she passed and it fell into disrepair..
i replaced all four tires (tire rot) got the sensor fixed on the auto start and anti theft system.. replaced brake pads and rotors.. flushed power stearing fluid and got it detailed.. its coming along..
01 Pathfinder. I wanted something that would sit higher than average (for view), be able to hold my rig, and fit into normal parking spaces. I may downsize again as it's still a bit large for my needs, but it's been a good ride for a while now so I may just drive it into the ground before changing.
Me? It's pretty simple....car office says "Mr. Martin, here are your keys, it's parked in row d. See you again in 6 months. Don't forget to push your OnStar button to report any problems you may have during your time with the vehicle.". And off I go.
Now, my wife is another story. In March we picked up her 2012 Chevrolet Volt. It is loaded with creature comforts, drives like a dream, and has yet to stop at a gas station. Approaching 5,000 miles on 3.2 gallons of dealer gas. Another 6.1 gallons left. Might have to fill up in like November or December.

No. The car requires premium, so that octane stays stable longer. Then there is an "Engine Maintenance Mode" that it automatically goes into if the engine hasn't been started in a while (we think it's 6 weeks). This turned on once while she was driving. Consumed all of 0.1 gallons. Primarily to circulate the oil and keep the seals fresh.
There is also another algorithm that measures the gasoline quality to determine aging. If the vehicle has gasoline that is a year old, it will force the engine on to burn off the old gasoline.
Maybe the original post question should have been: is your vehicle a tool or something more than a tool? Isn't that what dictates what we end up driving?
I drive an '09 V-dub GTI. It's just about perfect for me. I do love me a compact 5-dr / 4-dr hatchback sports car. I feel like a million bucks driving it around town. It easy load in/load out and fits all my gear easily. I love going out with another couple, picking them up, and their surprise when they realize how nice a ride it is...from the back seat even. I can easily fit a dozen bags of mulch and still have room for other stuff from Home Depot.

That is a sweet drop deck. Do you have a company driver, or do you just contract a driver for events?(yeah I know 20 questions). Not that I'd ever want to drive that thing, You think driving a car in SO Cal is bad......
You need someone to test your race engines. Kindly forward all the Chevy based engines to me for further analysis.
I've been lucky enough to have had a generous car allowance with my job and have driven BMWs, Audis and Mercedes in the past. Until recently I drove this Volvo C70.
Unfortunately, my wife has Multiple Sclerosis and now has to drive one of these.
So I now drive one of these, so that we can transport the wheelchair or her scooter.
That's a brochure photo, but the same thing. To my surprise, despite having driven vehicles that are supposedly a little more middle class and upmarket, the Ford S-Max is one of the best cars I've ever owned. It is big, roomy and has a refined ride yet handles like a much smaller car. It is the first diesel I've ever owned and glides effortlessly along on a big wave of torque at motorway speeds while still returning mid 50 mpg figures. Quite how some of guys think they're getting good mileage with anything less than 40+ combined urban is beyond me. Still, over here diesel prices have been hovering above £1.37 ($2.15) per LITRE so....
The dual clutch auto is a triumph, absolutely seamless changes through what is essentially a 6 speed manual box. It's also cool to have a car that's big enough to swallow 2 8x10's if I wanted them, and it has carried all my gear, the drummers 7 piece kit and the whole PA to gigs. Of course the diesel isn't that fast, but if I want to go fast this is probably all you'll see of me on my Ducati ST
Yes, that is me...or at least my rear...just turning into Barn Corner on a trackday at Cadwell Park race circuit (and yes, the knee slider will kiss the tarmac at the apex)...if I want to go even faster I have this classic beauty
Breathed on a bit to push out 120 bhp at the rear wheel. Of course there are more powerful sports bikes, but anyone who says they can consistently handle more power on UK roads is either lying or has a death wish.

Why cos my old 2002 saved us from being badly injured.
I stuck with a car that ends up an orphan like a dumbo head. It's cheap, plastic, not terribly comfy now, but the power train kicks ass and is very reliable. I can fit my junk in it, the bass gets front seat on lesson day lol....
I like the looks of it too, it's basic, good stereo...the interior needs a scrub but it's not trashed. 97k miles...going strong...
I drive a school bus to make $ lol...my fam owns the buses so it's all cool...
I hate seeing these soccer moms with big gms that can't back out of a space cos it's like if u can't park it don't drive it. They're not that hard but they do have a lot of blind spots....
To my fellow bus driver above, it's a pain here in SoCal too but it's more of huge freeway jams....go on for 10+ miles ...blah....
