I drive a 2003 VW Jetta, because I needed a car and my sister-in-law hooked me up with her old one. Can't complain, but I've yet to attempt to squeeze my SWR Goliath cab into the thing. Kind of afraid I won't be able to get it out.

Why do you drive the vehicle you do?

Oops. You're correct. My 2009 Sport was what I was thinkin'. Duh. I miss the old school feel of the 2009 but I like the power of the 2010. Jaguar has an all new engine in the 2010. The lease was up on the 2009 so I took over hubby's 2010, when he got the Porsche.
I drive an 05 Saturn Ion Redline. For me, it's a good balance between fun, practical and blends in well. The half doors on the back make it easy to load people/things. The rear seats fold down as well, so that doubles the trunk space. Good gas mileage, quick, easy-ish to work on most of it, cheap - saved about ~$100/month on loan, ~$20/month on insurance and double gas mileage compared to my previous vehicle (06 Chevy Colorado). However, I will most likely be getting something for the winter time as well. Looking at wagons/SUVs.
Let's get back to the assortment of automobiles and motorcycles....
What a deal! I love rovers. I had that model and I still miss it. Currently, I drive a 2010 Range Rover Sport and a 2010 Porsche 911 Carrera S ...hubby's car, I get to drive it on the way home since we carpool everyday..
MY vehicle: Why a Rover? (I believe that was part of the original op's question) I am not a car person. Been driving pickups, trucks, suv's since I started driving. I owned 1 car and never went back. I was an off-roader for several years and I just cannot go back to a car - it's not in my blood. And I have driven several makes/models of SUVs/trucks and there is nothing like the solid, sure-footed feel of a Rover. Nothing compares IMO.
Over several years at my aftermarket automotive hi-performance employer I have had the pleasure of driving a variety of cars and trucks where I work because we're not allowed to drive our personal cars between bldgs. It's fun to experience other makes models - most are project cars with our products in them.
Anyway, here's my Sport.

Nice Porsche I'd love to get a 911 Turbo (someday). Trust me that Rover is about as big as you wanna get. I drive this beast:
60+ Feet long, 40 tons, 13 gears.
Still those old Pete extended hoods are lookers, as impractical as they are.

05 Kia van - wife wanted a van I secretly did too when we got it... But I need to put in a new ac compressor... So I get to drive it until then.
99 blazer - inlaws gave it to us... It has ac you can guess who is driving that now... That being said I've always wanted a s-10blazer ... I offered to pay for it a long time ago. Guess they remembered.

Why do I drive what I drive? I can't afford anything better at the moment. I got my '89 Dodge van from a friend for free and I drive my folks' Volvo 240 wagon since they store it at my house for about eight months a year. When I have the money I'll look for another '98 Ford Ranger, one of the best vehicles I've ever owned and I still kick myself for selling it.
We were "discussing" your car because you mentioned it in this thread and this is a discussion based forum. If you couldn't tell there are some gearheads here at TB that appreciate a modified vehicle, myself included. You've done well with what you have, you're obviously proud of it and you should be. You don't need thick skin here as a Ford owner, this isn't a middle school forum full of haters. While I'm a mechanic by trade (and I don't own a Corvette) I have no desire to start a pissing match over who's car is bigger better faster etc..... I'm 45 and those days are long gone for me.
Bill Solinger (you might remember the name as being one of the guys who was a builder on the old modified Pure Hell II) once told me that he had never seen an engine that was aware of the name on the side of the block. It's my third Subie. The other two I drove up to 230K + miles and sold. The last one, a '97 Outback, needed cats and struts and leaked oil like a Harley, but it still purred like a kitten. Couldn't see spending the $$ to get it to pass emissions, though. This one is a Legacy (non Outback), a '95 so emissions are moot in my state, but it has low miles and the cats are good for now. 4 cyl mpg with lots of cargo space. I do miss the extra ground clearance and headroom of the Outback, but I still have AWD.

2012 Soobie Impreza Sport. Because it has AWD and I live in WI, it gets amazing mileage for an AWD vehicle, and all my stuff fits in it. Aside from that Soobs are reliable beyond belief, cheap new, and hold their value used.
I have a 2007 Toyota Matrix. Picked it up for an awesome price in January. I got it because, well it's not a Volkswagen and it has a huge trunk and can carry most of my bands gear. I had a 2000 VW GTI VR6 prior to this thing, which was nothing but a lemon since day one. I was sick of fixing everything on it all the time so when it broke down last I ditched it and got something that was reliable. I love my Matrix, it can carry everything and get's great gas mileage. Plus with all the money I am saving from not buying vw parts all the time I bought a new bass rig haha!
I was told earlier that pineapples are stationary/immobile.
